Richard H. "Crunch" Burns, 67, of Riverton, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at the Pendleton County, WV Nursing Home in Franklin.
Mr. Burns was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Riverton and was a son of the late Don L. Burns and Mary Kile Burns.
He was employed at the Germany Valley Lime plant until 1979.
On Aug. 12, 1955, he married Virginia Mae Thompson, who preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 1981.
Surviving are six daughters, Barbara Shank of Lacey Springs, VA, Patsy Nicholas of Cherry Grove, Donna Burns and Christina Evans, both of Riverton, Tammy Cooper of Harman, and Amy Vandevender of Bartow; three sons, Richard J. Burns and Danny L. Burns, both of Riverton, and Tommy Burns, Weyers Cave, VA; two sisters, Pauline Bennett of Riverton, and Jean Simpson, Baltimore, MD; four brothers, Charles Burns, Curtis Burns and Carl Burns, all of Riverton, and Paul "Dagwood" Burns, Mill Creek; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, one brother and five sisters.
Dr. Paul O'Gorek conducted the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was at the Burns family cemetery in Riverton.
