Mary Allie (Alexander) Lantz, 80, of Crescent City, FL, passed away unexpected Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Florida Hospital in Orlando. A native of Faunsdale, Alabama, and graduated from Thomaston High School in Meringo County.
Upon graduating she attended business school in Selma, AL, where she met and married the father of her three children. She then moved to Jacksonville, FL where she resided for 37 years. Mary had worked at a variety of businesses in Jacksonville over the years including at J.C. Penney, JEA, Martin Office Supplies, Atlantic Venetian Blinds and at Paradies Gift Shop at JIA.
After retiring, Mary moved to Putnam County where she resided for 18 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Palatka where she had served as a deacon. Among the things Mary enjoyed in her leisure were her collection of antiques especially chairs, enjoyed the company of her many good friends and loved the sunsets in the evening over the St. Johns River as well as an avid home shopper of all the finest of clothing.
Mary is survived by her husband of 20 years, George Lantz, 3 daughters, Mary Elizabeth Dickerson of Celebration, FL, Sandra Dickerson Smiley and husband Douglas of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Linda Bulanadi and husband Jose Lito of Chino, CA and their son, Houston Bulanadi.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church of Palatka with The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Benz and Rev. John Miles officiating. Graveside services and burial will be Saturday at 2:30 P.M. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-7 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. Flowers are gratefully accepted or memorial donations may be sent in Mary's memory to the First Presbyterian Church, 123 S. 2nd St., Palatka, FL 32177. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
