Victor "Butch" Henry passed peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer. Butch was born September 26, 1943 in Clay, Kentucky, a graduate of Clay High School. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He served as a deacon at West End Baptist Church and led the Jackson House and W.B. Sanders Sunday School Ministry.

He is a retiree of Ato-Chem and shortly after his retirement he began volunteering at Baptist Health where he completed the Chaplains Training Program, serving as a chaplain until his illness in early 2014. Butch was best remembered as "Santa Butch", donating his spare time around Christmas to churches, schools, nursing homes and families, portraying Santa Claus and spreading the cheer of Christmas and the message of the Gospel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Luke Denver Henry, mother, Archie Lillian Henry, brothers, Charles "C.D." Henry, Jim Henry, one sister, Juanita Herron, and son, Luke Allen Henry.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sarah, son Brian and wife (Melissa), daughter-in-law Joyce and 3 grandchildren, Megan, Michael, and Katelyn as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 7, 2014 at West End Baptist Church, South 28th Street in Paducah with Rev. Terry Sills and Rev. Joel Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery of Palma.

Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm Friday, June 6 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah and from 9 AM until service time at the church on Saturday.
