GENE WAYNE ROGERS SR

Memorial services for Gene Wayne Rogers Sr., 77, of Conroe Texas will be held on Friday June 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM at West Conroe Baptist Church with Dr. Jay Gross officiating.

Gene Wayne Rogers Sr. was born on January 14, 1937 in Conroe Texas and went home on July 22, 2014 in Conroe at the age of 77 where he was greeted by his wife, father, mother and sister. Gene had three wonderful children, seven wonderful grandchildren, a loving wife of 54 years and one true friend. Surely he was truly blessed.

Gene proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and retired after Twenty-Three years of service where he enlisted before the end of the Korean Conflict and served through two tours in Vietnam before his retirement in 1974. He served in various locations across the world. Among his distinguished service, he was a Sgt. First Class assigned to the 285th Military Police Battalion, also part of the 52nd Criminal Investigation Division, and also member of "Alert Company" strike outfit at Fort Hood, TX.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Rogers, parents Manuel and Alibee Rogers, brother Neil Rogers, and sister Valda Rogers.

Gene is survived by his children: daughter Cindi Sigsbee and husband Scott, son Gene Rogers Jr. and wife Tara, son Chris Rogers and wife Andrea; Grandchildren: Michael, Jordan, Kelsey, Merin, Daylon, Kelly and Zachary; and many other relatives and friends.

Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a dedicated member of his church and he will be dearly missed.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith." -2 Timothy 4:7
