Deborah Peterson, 67, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 4:20 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2014 while in the company of family members, at her home, rural McPherson, Kansas.

Deborah was born in Waco, Texas on November 28, 1946, a daughter of Minnea (Bielstien) and Gurl (GC) C. Wright.

Deborah attended the Pleasant Grove grade schools and graduated from W.W. Samuell High School, Pleasant Grove, Texas. She then attended Eastfield College in Dallas, Texas.

Deborah was a homemaker and worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and Fairchild Electronics in Texas. She owned and operated the Country Cupboard, which through the years was in four different locations in McPherson, and she worked many years for Wal-Mart and retired as a Department Manager.

Deborah was very good at working with her hands and loved painting, creating ceramic pieces and working with wood. She was a member of a bowling league and loved fishing, camping, boating, riding motorcycles and being with her family and friends. Holidays were always a special time to Deb, especially when she had the whole family together.

Deborah Jean Wright was united in marriage to Clinton E. Peterson on June 12, 1978 at Seagoville Baptist Church, Seagoville, Texas. The couple established their first home together in Garland, Texas until 1979, when they moved to McPherson, Kansas.

Deb is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over thirty-six years, Clinton Peterson of McPherson, Kansas; her sons, Philip Heathcock of McPherson, Kansas, Brad Heathcock of Texas, Marty Peterson and his wife Laura of McPherson, Kansas and Mike Peterson and his wife Christina of Tioga, Texas; her brother, Terry Wright and his wife Joyce of Colbert, Oklahoma; her 10 grandchildren, Hunter Heathcock and Tanner Heathcock; Tony Peterson, Heather Dubois and husband Nick, and Zach Peterson; Courtney Heathcock, Monica Liles, and Jake Heathcock; Alyssa Smith and Jessica Smith; a nephew, other relatives and a host of friends.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and a son Anthony Dale "Tony" Peterson.

Funeral service will be held at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 with Deb's granddaughter, Heather Dubois officiating.

The final resting place will be at the New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural McPherson, Kansas.
