She attended St. John's School in Fort Atkinson and a rural school in Winneshiek County, and married Adolph Vrba Oct. 6, 1930 in Fort Atkinson. They had three children: Aileen, Roger and Shirley.
Mayme Vrba was a homemaker and farm wife until 1956.
In 1956 she began doing housework at the Fred Figge home in Ossian and then worked for Helen Christenson in Decorah until she retired to her home in Fort Atkinson in 1976.
In January of 2000, she moved to an apartment in Elma and then in April of 2001, she moved into the Colonial Manor in Elma.
Mayme Vrba was a faithful and devoted member of St. John's Guild.
Mayme Vrba was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Vrba, April 6, 1951; her son, Roger in 1983; her parents, Albert on January 5, 1954 and Anna, April 6, 1955; one grandson in 1961.
