Stephen Lanier Hensley was born on October 20, 1930, in Brevard, North Carolina to Floyd and Clara (Ducker) Hensley and passed away July 22, 2014, in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 83 years. Stephen was a member of Victory Worship Center in Spiro, Oklahoma, and also a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He retired from the U.S. Navy serving his country for 20 years in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Stephen then retired as sheriff's deputy and under sheriff for Leflore County, he was also head of security at Blue Ribbon Downs. He loved his church family and enjoyed gardening, yard work and fishing. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Jean McCall. Funeral services will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at Victory Worship Center of Spiro, Oklahoma with Reverends Bryan Fouts and Michael Monroe officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery of Spiro, Oklahoma.
