He was sworn in holy matrimony to Martha Reed. Of this union two sons were born, Lee Cook Jr. of Washington D.C., and Gary Cook, who preceded him in death. On December 26, 1965 he married the Love of his life, Arlera Mabry, who was his devoted wife, and loving companion and partner until he passed.
Lee Cook was a member of Stoney Point Baptist Church of Smith Grove, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of Moore-Irvin American Legion and Onyx Lodge of Elks. A life-long hard worker and provider, Lee retired from Dana Corporation. He dearly loved his wife, children, family, fishing and sports.
He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his passing, his wife Arlera, son (Ur Aua) Hehimetu Ra Enkamit (formerly known as Lee Cook Jr.); daughters Angela Cook, Karen Nurse, Rose Pringle and Sandra Johnson; sister Evelyn Anderson; brothers John Cook and David Cook Jr.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. His family that preceded him in death include: son Gary Cook, mother Lena Cook, father David Cook Sr., sisters Margaret Leavell and Louise Grant, brothers Kirtley Cook and Moses Cook. Services for Lee Cook will be at Mt. Olive Baptist Church 1108 North "H" Street Richmond, Indiana 47374 on Saturday, August 2, 2014. The Wake will begin at 10 am, followed by the Funeral at 11am. Pastor Earnest Randle will officiate and Internment will immediately follow at the Earlham Cemetery Mausoleum. The Repast & Visitation will be held at Mt Olive following the burial.
