MARTIN & ELIZABETH O'NEIL

BURNED TO DEATH NEAR REEDSVILLE
Reedsville – An elderly invalid farm couple burned to death when a kitchen range apparently exploded and set fire to a farm home 5 miles north of here Wednesday. Theodore Tietgen, Manitowoc county Coroner, said the victims, Martin O'Neil, 74 and his wife, 70 were burned beyond recognition.

BODIES RECOVERED
Their bodies were recovered from the charred ruins of the frame home. Mrs. Martin had been confined to a wheel chair for some time, and O'Neil, who suffered a heart attack, was in bed at the time of the fire. A house maid, (sic) Mrs. Isaacson, was preparing breakfast when the stove apparently exploded.

HELP IS TOO LATE
She rushed her three small children outside to safety, but was unable to aid the O'Neils because of the raging blaze. A truck driver who was driving by stopped, but he also was unable to reach the O'Neils. Three fire companies arrived at the farm too late to put out the fire.
