ATTAWAY, Mary O. (Edwards) – Of Flint, age 82, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Heartland Healthcare Center-Briarwood.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 noon Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mary was born in Junction City, KS on March 18, 1932, the daughter of Donald and Mary Heidenreich and was a resident of the Flint area since 1957.
She married Donald H. Edwards, Sr. on September 3, 1949.
She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church.
Surviving are children, James and wife Brenda Edwards of Phoenix, Arizona,
Cherie and husband Patrick Callahan of Florida,
Dona and husband James Bradford of Lapeer,
Terry and husband Kevin Austin of Flint;
daughter-in-law , Marsha Edwards-Baker and husband Rex of Cleveland, OH;
13 grandchildren;
17 great-grandchildren;
2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald H. Edwards, Sr. and Billy Attaway, sons, Donald Edwards, Jr. and Robert Edwards; daughter, Shelley Hodge-Stayt; two grandsons, Robert J. Edwards and Andrew M. Edwards.
