Nicholas was a B-24 Pilot with the 451st Bomb Group, 725 Bomb Squadron, 15th Airforce. He was shot down February 25, 1944 on a Regensberg Mission and was held as a POW in Stalag Luft I, Barth, Germany for 14 months. He was member of the Disabled American Veterans. Avid boater on St. Croix River. Longtime employee for Midway Chevrolet. Preceded in death by his loving wife Marjorie. Survived by son Stephen (Olga) and daughter Georgia Kay (Orris) Ness; granddaughters and step great-granddaughter Sedona Lashkowitz; and sister Gertrude (Thomas) Sylvester.
