Born March 31, 1933, in Roanoke, he was the son of James Grady Lynch and Lucy Snead Lynch. Mr. Lynch received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1954 after serving as a Cpl. in the Korean Conflict. He spent most of his adult life in the Miami, Florida, area. He returned to Danville in 1997 after retirement.
Mr. Lynch is survived by his daughter Darlene Lynch Gould and husband Patrick, two grandchildren, Madison and Jared, all of Weeki Wachee, Florida, and one brother James L. Lynch of Danville. He was predeceased by his first wife Della Ward Lynch, second wife Virginia Pickral Lynch, his parents, two brothers Paul and Marvin Lynch, and one sister Dorothy Lynch Batchelor.
Graveside services will be held at Highland Burial Park on Thursday, June 14th at 11:00 a.m.with the Rev. James Albert officiating. The American Legion Post 1097 will provide Military rites. The family will have a visitation from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 14th, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel, prior to the graveside service.
The family will receive friends at the residence of James Lynch at 505 Franklin Turnpike. Arrangements are being handled by Barker Funeral Home, 2025 North Main Street.
