Samuel "Pete" Kincaid was born on 27 Oct 1898 in Abraham, Raleigh County, W.Va., a son of Samuel T. Kincaid and wife Estaline Luvernia Vance. He was one of 13 children.

He married Sadie O. Adkins in 1923 in Raleigh County.

Mr. Kincaid, 75, of Shady Spring, W.Va., died on 19 Feb 1974 in the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors included his wife Sadie; son, Johnnie Lee Kincaid; daughter Bessie Kincaid Smith; five sisters, Nellie Kincaid Smith, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kincaid Stetier, Ocie Kincaid Bennett, Thelma Kincaid Wilburn, and Jocie Kincaid; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held in the Blue Ridge Funeral Home chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Oliver Tedder officiating. Burial was in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
