The funeral for Juliette O. Johnson of Southeast Portland will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the First Unitarian Church of Portland. Mrs. Johnson died of causes related to age Monday in a Portland care center. She was 96.

She was born Jan. 6, 1896, in Reedville, Va., where she was raised and received her early education. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing in 1922 and married Dr. Franklin P. Johnson in 1923. The couple moved to the Portland area that same year.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She had served as a volunteer nurse for the Oregon Trail chapter of the American Red Cross for about 10 years. Her husband died in 1943.

She was a member of the First Unitarian Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Lillian Wonders of Victoria, British Columbia, Virginia Havel of Ross, Calif., and Louise King of Portland; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private burial will be at River View Cemetery.
