Robert "Bob" Vogler April 22, 1935 - July 18, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Robert "Bob" Vogler, 79, passed away on July 18, 2014, after a long illness. Born April 22, 1935, he was the son of the late Henry H. and Marguerite (Ehresman) Vogler. Bob leaves behind several family members, including two daughters, Maria (Vogler) Dixon and Anna (Vogler) Manka-myer; and grandson, Alex Dixon, all of Denver, CO; brother, William "Bill" Vogler of South Bend; and two sisters, Sandra (Vogler) Berta of South Bend and Kathy Vogler of Indianapolis. Bob contracted Polio at the age of 12. Fortunately, his Grandmother Ehres-man was a nurse and specialized in treating children with Polio. With therapy, and her constant help and support, he was not only able to overcome the debilitating disease, but he worked hard to become a body builder and was even featured on the front of a magazine. Bob graduated from St. Matthew Grade School in 1951 and continued on to Riley High School, from where he graduated in 1955. He then moved to Denver, Colorado, where he worked for King Super Bakery. After 35 years of service, he retired and moved back to South Bend. He had an interest in archaeology and belonged to numerous Archaeological Societies in the Midwest and Denver areas. Per Bob's request, cremation will take place with services at a later date. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.McGannHay.com.
