Helen Amanda Golightly Waitman, 93, of Grimes Circle, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. John Ferree. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
Mrs. Waitman was born in Laurens County on Dec. 6, 1910, to William and Verdie Knight Golightly. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a past member of the Euterpe Music Club. She was retired from Belk of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Waitman, and a daughter, Nancy Lou Waitman.
Surviving are her two sons, James Edwin Waitman and his wife, Maxine, and Steve Waitman and his wife, Cathy, all of Lexington; three grandchildren, Mark Waitman and his wife, Missina, and Craig Waitman and his wife, Patsy, all of Lexington and Robin Fulp and her husband, Dr. Sam Fulp, of Charlotte; three great-grandchildren, Wesley Waitman of Lexington and Julie and Andy Fulp of Charlotte; and one brother, Grover Golightly of Cowpens, S.C.
