Marion J. (Buddy) Goodwill passed away on July 20, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave. Officiating will be Rev. Conrad Edwards. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St.

Buddy was born in Minden, LA on January 2, 1925, the son of the late Jasper and Annie Goodwill. Buddy and Anna Faye Williams were married on January 26, 1947 and after 58 years of marriage he lost the love of his life. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Bill Goodwill and Mike Goodwill and wife, Paula; brother, Robert (Tuby) Goodwill and his late wife, Janice; also are his grandchildren, Daniel and Caroline Goodwill; nieces Diane Goodwill and Brenda Tolar and husband, Mike and their children.

Buddy attended Minden High School and Louisiana State University, where he received his BS in Chemical Engineering. He served three years in the Navy during WWII. After serving his country he worked for International Paper Company in Springhill, LA for 5 years and then for United Gas Pipeline Co. for 34 years in Shreveport, Jackson, New Orleans and Houston. Buddy was a faithful member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Couples Class. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many happy hours enjoying his hobby with his family and friends
