Kenneth E. McKinley, 78, of Mansfield died Tuesday evening, March 11, 2003 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Mr. McKinley was born September 25, 1924 in Ashland, Ohio to Vernon and Thelma Kaylor McKinley and was an area resident his entire life. He retired from Mansfield Tire and Rubber where he worked as a foreman. Kenneth was a member of V.F.W. Post #3494 and Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Korman Stoltz McKinley; five children and their spouses, Diana and Ken Whetstone of Versailles, Ohio, Bill and Laura Stoltz of Medina, Ohio, Mary Lou and Tom Finley of Mansfield, Judy Goldsmith of Mansfield, and David and Mary Stoltz of Kennesaw, Georgia; eleven grandchildren, Laura Whetstone, Adam Whetstone, Kevin Whetstone, Tiffany Stoltz, Christina Stoltz, Denise and Pat Reddy, Sarah Goldsmith, Jared Goldsmith, Trudi Cheek, and Tricia Stoltz; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ernie McKinley, George McKinley, and Melvin McKinley; sister, Beulah Burton; and a son-in-law, James 'J.J.' Goldsmith.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, March 13 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Christopher R. Thomas will be held at the funeral home Friday at 11:00 a.m. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
