He enjoyed fishing and camping with many of his brothers and children throughout the years. He was an avid Illinois Basketball fan and enjoyed watching many other sports. Dick enjoyed the time he spent at cookouts with his family and especially enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and was happy to share many of the flowers he grew with people.

Dick and Nettie rarely missed going to the Bement Country Opry every Friday night with their friends to listen to music. They enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage together. He was a quiet man of few words but was always there for anyone when they needed something. Dick was a loving husband, father and grandfather and we will miss him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Presence Hospice and the wonderful staff of nurses and caregivers for all the compassion and care they showed to Dick and the entire family during this time. Also a special thanks to Bob Lane for all the visits, prayers, and concern he has shown for Dick as he made this journey.
