Musician. He was the grandson of Philadelphia artist Thomas Sully. He composed the music for two operas, Fortunio and His Seven Gifted Servants (1883) and The Magic Bell. In addition he composed and arranged religious music for Holy Trinity Church in Philadelphia where he was organist and choir director. He was married to Cecelia Baldwin. He was the first vice-president of the Philadelphia Orchestra Association.
