Cheryl M. Cox, age 67, of Luray, MO, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, IA.

Cheryl was born February 21, 1947 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Howard and Patricia A. Burke Hoover. She was raised in the Chicago area, graduating from Bloomfield (IL) High School.

She married Wayne Cox and they moved to Missouri in 1978 where they raised their children.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Cox of Ottumwa, IA, and Doug Hart of Texas; one daughter, Michelle (Everd) Vanvelkinburgh of Keokuk, IA; several grandchildren including Jessica and Emily Cox of Fort Madison, IA and Anna and Terry Vanvelkinburgh of Keokuk, IA; a great grandson, Landon Michael Joseph Elfgen; and sister-in-law, Shirley Hoover Cox.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ted and Timothy Hoover.

Cheryl received her associate's degree in accounting from Quincy Tech in Quincy, Illinois and was a self-employed C.P.A. She was a former employee of the Industrial Opportunities in Kahoka.

She loved being home, doing crafts and playing games and communicating with friends on the computer, and more importantly, spending time with her grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Combs Cemetery in Luray, MO, with words of comfort by Mr. Larry Young. Procession will leave for the cemetery at 1:10 p.m.

Friends may register after 9 a.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka. There will be no other visitation.

Memorials are suggested to the family.
