Kay was born in Des Moines, IA. Her Parents are Joseph E and Katherine M (Novenski) Mullin. She was one of nine children. Siblings are Mary, Therese Brittain, Joe, John, Helen, Bill, Margaret Babl and Tom. After High School, Kay moved to Sioux City, and then later Omaha, NE. Kay attended College of St. Mary's, there, and earned her nursing degree, to become a Registered Nurse. She devoted her skills for 22 years towards helping others. She was a devout Catholic.
