Son of Henry Williams born Dec 17, 1829 OH and Eliza Jane Harless born July 25, 1830 OH who married Jan 22 1853 in Darke County Ohio before moving to Delaware Co Indiana. His father Henry Williams died October 8, 1855, barely a month since making out his Last Will and Testament, naming Alpheus Preston Williams his only child at the time of his death. (His wife Eliza may have been pregnant at the time since another child was born Henry Walter Williams) born after the death of his father Henry.

Alpheus Preston Williams married three times:

First on 10 March 1877 in Randolph Co IN to Annie E. Dunn.

Second, on 30 Sept 1886 in Union City, Randolph Co IN to Mary Emma Siple, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Siple who married 16 Sept 1847 in Clark Co OH. Emma Sipple died June 19, 1888 in Union City Randolph Co IN and was buried in Hillgrove Cemetery.

Third on 27 Dec 1893 to Margaret E. Cole in Delaware Co. IN. The marriage license said 'Mrs. Margaret E. Cole' so it assumed Cole is a married surname, and no maiden name was listed.

The couple show on the 1910 census for Delaware Co IN where Alpheus Preston Williams is working as a house carpenter. No children in the home but listed is 2 children born, 1 living.

Alpheus died between the Apr 18, 1910-1920 census. He is listed on an Indiana Probate Index #08070 available from Muncie Public Library dated 8/17/1922.

In the 1920 census for Delaware Co IN Margaret E. (Cole) Williams states she is 70 and a widow. She does not appear in the 1930 census for Delaware Co IN.

I was unable to find burial location. Here is his father's will:

Henry Williams Will
I, Henry Williams make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in which I revoke all former wills by me made. First I will that after my decease my body be decently intered according to my standing and that my funeral expenses and just debts be paid so soon as convenience will admit. I will also that all my moveable property be sold except two cows and two beds and one bedstead and all our bedding and wearing apparel, household and kitchen furniture and my horsebeast which I reserve and give to my wife Eliza Jane Williams and the proceeds of the sale of my property and all other monies to me belonging. I will to be put out at interest, and the interest to be used for the support and schooling of my child until he arrives at the age of 21 years of age, my said child being named Alpheus Preston Williams and in case said Alpheus Preston Williams should not live until he arrives at 21 yr,s then in that case all my money and effects above, named I give to my said wife Eliza Jane Williams for her own sole use and behoof and I hereby appoint Elias Harless my Executor of this my last will and testament. Signed and sealed this 17 day September 1855.
