Not long since, in Cabarrus county, Mr. Seth Hudson, aged about 45 years. Mr. Hudson was a very industrious farmer. He has left a widow and several children to lament his loss.

We believe Seth Hudson was the son of James Hudson of Virginia. In Fanny's will she mention's leaving " James's bed". DNA indicates they are from the Amelia/Chesterfield line of Hudsons in Virginia.
Seth married (1) to Polly Kern.
Seth was married to Frances "Fanny" B. Atwood of Virginia. She died in 1857.
Their children were Franklin Allen Hudson, Richard Rush Hudson, Nancy Hudson Stancil, and Mahurley Hudson Spears.
