Mrs. Birdie Jane (Benton) Sorrels was born November 8, 1892 in Poynor, Missouri and died December 19, 1985 at Corning Nursing Home. She was a former Success resident, member of the Brazzell Baptist Church and was 93 years old.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mary Hovis of Success; one sister, Mrs. Eliza Watson of Corning Nursing Home; one brother, Sam Brown of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, December 22 in Ermert Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Billy Wiggins officiating. Burial was in Hitt Cemetery.
