H.A. MUELLER, CITY’S OLDEST RESIDENT, PASSED AWAY OCT. 13

Herman A. Mueller, a long-time resident of Mayville, die Oct. 13 at the Cedar Lake Home, rural West Bend, at the age of 101 years, six months.

He was born Apr. 13, 1874, in Watertown, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Carl Mueller. On Jan 23, 1901, he married Marie Klug in Watertown.

Mr. Muelller was the founder of H. A. Mueller and Sons Decorating in Mayville, retiring in 1960. He was a founder and past director of Mayville Savings and Loan Association and was a long-time active member of St. John’s Lutheran church, holding various church offices, including serving on the building committee.

Survivors include three sons, Gerhard and Louis Mueller, Mayville, Lorenz Mueller, Sheboygan; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1971, two sons, one daughter, one brother and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. from the Koepsell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert L. Meyer officiating. Visitation was held Wednesday after 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery.
