Dr. Charles Armstrong was six foot one inch. Dr. Armstrong ran a trading post in Utah, was a semi-pro baseball player, and translated portions of the Bible into Indian dialect. He married Katherine Elizabeth Wheatley on 12 October 1882. They had one son John Kendall Armstrong in 1883. From 1883 to 1889 he served as Rector at St. Paul's Chapel in Salt Lake City Utah. He was also supt. at St. Marks Hospital. From 1889 to 1892 he was Rector of St. Philip's in Laurel DE. In 1903 he was briefly at St. Andrew's church in Philadelphia, PA. From May 1904 until his death he was the third Rector of St. Mary's Episcopal Church Wayne PA.
