Christ was born 9/19/1892 in Marshall Township; confirmed at Little Cedar on June 2, 1907.

Chris M. Knutson, 73, 1105 Kelly St., died unexpectedly late last night at his home following a heart attack. Mr. Knutson has had a heart ailment for the past three years, but appeared to be in good health lately, and had attended the Knights of Pythias lodge meeting earlier in the evening. He was a retired Oliver employee, having worked there for thirty years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and had served that church on many boards and official capacities. He served as inspector for the church in its remodeling and building projects. He also was a very active member of the Knights of Pythias lodge and headed a group that recently remodeled the new Knights of Pythias lodge and for his efforts in this behalf, was honored at that group’s annual dinner with a life membership in the lodge. He was also a member of the Past Chancellors Club. Mr. Knutson was on the Board of Adjustment for the City of Charles City.

Chris M. Knutson was born July 18, 1892 at Adams, Minn. the son of Jacob and Carrie Johnson Knutson. He was married to Ellen Peterson Feb. 24, 1914 in Austin, Minn. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, who is a patient in the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, one son, Paul of Charles City and one daughter, Mrs. Milo (Kathryn) Savel of Cedar Rapids. There are six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William, in 1955. Also surviving are two brothers, Jake and Carl, both of Adams, Minn.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church. The Rev. R. Roland Ritter will officiate with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens. The Hauser Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
