Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kahler Mortuary, Papillion, for Samuel W. Arbuthnot, retired rural mail carrier. He died Saturday at an Omaha hospital.
Mr. Arbuthnot was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He was deputy sheriff of Sarpy County six years and was elected sheriff in 1920. He resigned before taking office, however, to take the mail job.
Survivors: wife; daughters, Sue of Lincoln, Mrs. Mildred Soderling of Seattle, and Mrs. Ruth Moellering of Valley, Neb.; sons, James of Omaha and Harvey J., Papillion; three sisters, one brother, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Burial will be at Cedar Dale Cemetery.
