Funeral for Steve Clem, 51, of Mobile will be Friday, July 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Brother Gary Patton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Clem died Saturday, July 19, 2014, in Mobile. He was born October 23, 1962, in Decatur to James Shelby and Marguerite Clemons Clem. He was a Christian, baptized in 1975 at Somerville Road Church of Christ at the age of 13.

Mr. Clem graduated from Austin High School in 1981, graduated from Auburn University in 1985, then on September 9, 1986, he entered the Air Force Pilot Training School at Lackland AFB Texas. He taught high school math and coached at Fairhope High School from 1988-89. He attended and graduated from Cumberland School of Law in 1993. Mr. Clem was employed at Clem & Cleveland Law Firm, Mobile.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Maybell Clemons and Melvin and Ruth Clem.

He is survived by his wife, Lila Cleveland; three daughters, Caroline Clem, Allie Clem and Shelby Clem; his mother and father, Marguerite and Shelby Clem; two sisters, Dr. Christina Smith (Jeremy) of Birmingham and Anne Whitaker (Trampas) of Morrisville, N.C.; one niece, Ella Smith and four nephews, Colby and Connor Smith and Mason and Chad Whitaker and several aunts, uncles and cousins who were special to him.

Pallbearers will be Trampas Whitaker, Chad Whitaker, Mason Whitaker, Doris Clem, Keith Moore and Jeremy Smith.
