Marie Medlin Strickland, 79, of Kenly, passed away at the Wilson Assisted Living Center in Wilson NC on Friday, April 12, 2013. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Medlin and the late Iva Daniel Medlin.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Lee Strickland, her brothers, Hilliard Medlin, Joe Medlin, Johnny Medlin, Paul Medlin, Calvin Medlin, and her sisters, Maggie Strickland, Myrtie Bunch, Grace Whitley, Eunice Edwards, and Rhoda Ann Hinnant.

Ms. Strickland is survived by her daughters, Jackie Atkinson and husband Ron of Wilson, NC, Nina Kay Strickland and special family friend, Joanna Edgerton of Greenville, and her sisters, Hattie Lee Sullivan of Lucama and Joyce Whitley of Smithfield, NC.

The Funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, April 15, 2013 with Visitation from 2 – 3:00, just prior to the service at the Chapel of Minshew-Coley Funeral Home. Burial will occur at the Scott Family Cemetery on Princeton-Kenly Rd., immediately following the Chapel Service.
