Born on February 17, 1928 in Mansfield, MA, he was the son of the late
Pietro and Francesca (Scatalini) Dei. He attended Mansfield schools.
Following school, he joined the U.S. Marines and proudly served until
being honorably discharged on November 13, 1947. He then went on to
work as a Correctional Officer at the Walpole State Prison until his
retirement.
Peter spent the last 29 years living in Dennis, where he enjoyed the
beach, fishing, gardening, claming and backyard gatherings with family
and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sally I. Day of South Dennis; his
sons, Peter Dei III and his wife, Julie of Plainville, Michael Dei and
his wife, Cheryl of East Dennis; his grandchildren, Justin, Jamie,
Angela, Zachary; as well as his great grandchildren, Jada, Luke and
Tyler.
Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Doane, Beal
& Ames Funeral Home,729 Route 134 in South Dennis. Burial in
Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
