Dorsey Elmore Birch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Birch, was born in Clay County, March 27, 1873, and passed away January |19, 1946, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Guy Smith, in Ingraham at the age of 72 years, 9 months, and 22 days. He united with the South Muddy Baptist Church early in life and was a loving companion and father. He was united in marriage to Rosa Ann Ccok in 1895. To this union were born 8 children, 3 sons and 5 daughters.
He leaves to mourn, a loving companion; 2 sons and 5 daughters, namely Mrs. Guy Smith, Mrs. Fletcher Fulk, Mrs. Charlie Fulk, all of Ingraham, Ill., Mrs. Clyde Schrader and Jchn Birch of Louisville, Ill., Russell Birch of Bogota, Ill., Mrs. Alonzo Fitzgerald of Champaign, Ill.; 29 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence of Ingraham, Ill., Roe of Atwood, Ill.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Pearl Miller of Dundas and Mrs. Mollie Averetts of Missouri. Those preceding him in death were one son Lee who departed this life December 17, 1917, one brother Will, and one sister Hattie. He leaves to mourn his loss a host of relatives and friends.
