Born: December 13, 1928; Walked toward the light to peace and everlasting love on July 12, 2014.

Preceded in death by devoted wife, Florence E. Haas; parents, Joseph and Myrtle Haas, and brother, Paul F. Haas.

Born in Massillon, OH. Graduate of Father Ryan High School (1946) and Vanderbilt University, obtaining a Master's Degree in Sociology. Retired as Director of Research from the Metropolitan Planning Commission. He was instrumental in the merger of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which just celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

He was a lover of family, hockey, science, gardening and his beloved cats. Most of all, he was the keystone of the family, and was loved by all who were blessed to know him and be touched by his wit, charm, generosity and kind heart.

Survivors include 2 sons, 4 daughters, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the East Nashville Cooperative Ministry, a ministry co-founded by his loving wife.
