Elsie "Mae" West, age 87, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Fayetteville; passed away at the Chambersburg, Hospital on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Born in Chambersburg on January 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Irene Shearer Ulrich.
A homemaker most of her life, Mae enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing the piano, playing solitaire, and jig saw puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Barbara J. Peck Thompson (husband Ronnie) of Fayetteville, PA; Maureen C. Heckman (husband Galen) of Chambersburg, PA; and Bonnie J. Freel (husband Robert) of Tucson, AZ, four grandchildren, Robin Kauffman (wife Debbie) of Chambersburg, PA; Todd Heckman (wife Tracy) of Lititz, PA, Robbie Bertelsen (husband Jay) of Marana, AZ, and Scott Freel (wife Judy) of Nashville, TN; nine great grandchildren, Nikki Krug of Chambersburg, PA; Paul and David Bertelsen of Marana, AZ; Grace, Molly, and Lucy Freel of Nashville, TN; and Kyle, Alison, and Michael Heckman of Lititz, PA; two great-great grandchildren, BayLee Krug and Blake Reuter of Chambersburg, PA, and a nephew, Ken Bumbaugh of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Trudy Mae West and a sister, Sarah Jane Bumbaugh.
