LESTER B COOK, 80, Quincy, died at 2 a.m today in the Waynesboro Hospital. He was critically ill since being admitted to the hospital Tuesday.

Cook was born near Altenwald Jan 28. 1899, son of the late Charles A and Anna M (Benedict) Cook His early life was lived in the Altenwald area, and he had made his home at the present residence in Quincy since 1941.

Cook was a machinist and, prior to his retirement in 1964, he was employed at Teledyne Landis Machine Co. for more
than 40 years. Following his retirement, he worked part time as a mail truck driver for several years.

His wife Mrs Gladys E (Duffield) Cook, died in January 1977.

He was a member of the Quincy United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Owls Club.

He is survived by a son Lester D Cook. Quincy, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three sisters. Mrs. Anna Cibulla, New Jersey, Mrs Edna Leaner and Mrs Kathleen Fraker, both of Chambersburg.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m in the Grove Funeral Home with the Rev Earl Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mt Zion Cemetery.
