Gertrude became ill and was confined to her bed until Eva was born; Gertrude died the next day after Eva’s birth. Eva married William Edgar Diefenderfer on 11 Sep 1940, in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, PA. They had two children during their marriage. She died on 10 Dec 1966, in Hartford, CT at the age of 47, and was buried there. She was an educator and member of the Connecticut State Legislature at the time of her death in 1966.
