BREMEN -- Stephen George Hanna 27, died Friday March 30, 2012 at Maine Medical Center in Portland from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born August 15, 1984 in Damariscotta to Nathan Hanna and Heather O'Bryan. Stephen grew up in Damariscotta and Round Pond. He graduated in the class of 2002 from Lincoln Academy. He attended Washington County Community College.

Stephen worked as a fisherman starting with his father, Nathan, and lastly working as a stern man for Derrick Parlin. Stephen and Derrick fished out of Bremen and South Bristol for lobster and shrimp.

Stephen was a talented athlete playing baseball, basketball and softball and cross country. His American Legion baseball team had the great opportunity to play on Hadlock Field in Portland, home of the Portland Seadogs. Stephen and his girlfriend, Kristen Stevens played on a Co-ed softball team which recently played in Vermont and New Hampshire. Stephen was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Stephen enjoyed his life with his girlfriend Kristen, spending time with his family and friends and with his black lab, "Drake." He was an organ donor which epitomized his desire to help others in need.

He is survived by his mother, Heather O'Bryan and her husband Kevin Brown of Nobleboro Father, Nathan Hanna and his wife Nancy of Bristol

A memorial service to celebrate Stephen's life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday April 5, 2012 next to the old Hanna home on Molly's Cove Road, off of Back Shore Road in Round Pond. A private committal will be held in the New Harbor Cemetery in New Harbor.
