Eric J. Pederson, age 60 of Rockland, MA and loving husband of Catherine McNamara Pederson, passed away suddenly at his home on June 11, 2012. Born January 30, 1952 he was the son of the late Ralph and Ruth Pederson of Oxford, CT.
Eric attended Northeastern University and worked most of his life as a salesman for Industrial Tool Companies. Presently he was happily employed at Butler Bros. of Lewiston Maine. He was a graduate of Seymour High School in 1970. For three (3) years started as an offensive and defensive tackle on the football team. His short stature, wide shoulders, strength and perseverance earned him the nickname "The Stump". By his senior year, he had been selected as a member of the "All Valley Team" and was second team all Connecticut State.
He was an avid golfer named President of the Men's Association at Rockland Golf Course. Eric played in many tournaments and achieved four (4) Hole-In-Ones! He was always known as a kind hearted soul who would go out of his way to help others.
Eric will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to the joy in his life, his wife Cathy, stepson _Patrick McNamara and his wife Holly McNamara._he is survived by his Aunt Betty of Harwich, MA, brothers Glenn Pederson of Pensacola, FL, Mark (Laura) Pederson of Oxford, CT, sisters Bonnie (Dennis) Welch of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Betty (Tom) Pederson-Chase of St. Peters, MO. Uncle Eric was much-loved by his several nieces and nephews, and grandchildren Julie Leeber, Kristi Newcomb, Shane McNamara and Brianna McNamara.
