Jill Harden Owen, age 60, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014. She was born on November 9, 1953 in Rome, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Roy Harden; mother, MayDell Harden; sister, Kathy Pope.
Jill is survived by her husband of 25 years, David Owen of Dalton; daughter and son in law, Nicole and Matt Sherrill of Dalton; brother and sister in law, Rock and Angela Harden of Dalton; grandchildren that loved their GiGi, Colton and Brody Sherrill of Dalton; stepson, Andy Owen of Valdosta; stepdaughter, Amanda Sheets of Portland, Oregan; nieces and nephews, Katie Harden of Ringgold, Christiana Willocks of Dalton, Brady Willocks of Dalton and Connor Willocks of Dalton; and lots of family and friends in Rome and Dalton.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jill Harden Owen will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 21, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Dalton, with Rev. Kenny Ott officiating. The family will be greeting friends after the service. Jill loved animals. She would rescue as many as she could. The family request that in lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her memory to The Humane Society of NWGA.
