Fred Troester Dies After Long Illness

Fred George Troester, 72, died at his home Friday, Aug 19, at 5 p.m., following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. Paul Bauer officiating. Burial will be at Strawberry Point cemetery. Gill Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Troester was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Surviving are eight brothers, George, Gust, and Earl of Guttenberg, Louie of Clayton, Henry of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Elvin & Emil, both of Garnavillo and Herman of Austin, Minn. and two sisters, Mrs. William Bruening of Guttenberg and Mrs. George Thiese of St. Olaf.
