Mrs. Friedrich Schroeder, 91, nee Ethel Ola Pinson of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Knopp Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rick Hartmann officiating. Aggie Thompson was the organist.
Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening, Aug. 31.
Mrs. Schroeder was born Nov. 12, 1920, in Dallas, the daughter of Anthony (Tony) Pinson and Cordelia Carter Pinson. She married Fred Schroeder in Brenham on Aug. 26, 1939. He preceded her in death in September 2004.
She grew up in Crockett where she attended Crockett High School.
After her marriage, they made their home in Houston where she was a bookkeeper for her husband's construction company and in later years, joined the Spring Branch Independent School District food service department, becoming the manager of several high school cafeterias.
She was an active member of Texas Association of School Nutrition and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary where she served as president.
The Schroeders moved to Fredericksburg in 1999 after the State of Texas purchased their home of 50 years for Interstate 10 expansion.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Dorothy Schroeder of Fredericksburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Bill West of West Columbia; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law, Riley and Betty Pinson of Sugar Land.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Schroeder was preceded in death by one son, Fred Schroeder Jr.; four brothers, and four sisters.
