Claire was a 1951 graduate of Easton Area High School and attended Temple University. She was employed at Easton National Bank and Trust Company, where she met her husband, James D. Davis, whom she married in 1956.
Helping children reach their full potential was her avocation: she worked as an instructional aide for the Easton Area School District for over 20 years and served on the board of directors for the Helen Beebe Speech and Hearing Center, where she donated much of her time helping other families of deaf children.
She loved books, dark chocolate, and Seaside Park, New Jersey, where she went on her first date with her husband.
She was a longtime member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church (now Our Lady of Mercy Parish).
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth Ruffini, and her spouse John; her son David Davis and his spouse Howard; grandson; granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Geraldine Adams and Frances Pleiss.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm and also Saturday from 8-9am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc, 3720 Nicholas Street, Palmer Twp. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Bernards Oratory 132 S. 5th St. in Easton. Interment will take place in Northampton Memorial Shrine, 3051 Green Pond Road, Easton.
