Albertina R. H. "Tootie" Smick (nee Folske), 94, of Oshkosh died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Bethel Home. She was born March 3, 1920, in the Town of Utica a daughter of the late Herman and Hadwig (Zarling) Folske.
Tootie married LaVern A. Smick on June 24, 1944 in Omro and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1993. She was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church and enjoyed crocheting, reading, and playing cards.
Tootie is survived by a daughter, Pam (Frank) Metko; a sister-in-law, Ruby Folske; five grandchildren, Dean Metko, Rhonda Kubasta, Michelle (David) Soules, Shawn (Greg) Fox, and Randy Smick; five great-grandchildren, Amber Eiden (special friend-Joe Schmelzle), Justin (Courtnee) Buttles, Gage Chier, Logan Kubasta, and Olivia Fox; two-great-great-grandchildren, Lylah Buttles and Landen Schmelzle; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Arnold Smick; and brothers and sisters, Ruth (Alley) Bahr, Lydia (Edward) Bauer, Harry (Arlene) Folske, Reuben (Florence) Folske, Herman (Lenora) Folske, Richard (Phyllis) Folske, William Folske, Alvin Folske, and Charles Folske.
A memorial service for Tootie will be held Monday, July 21, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, Rev. Chadwick Graham officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the service. Inurnment will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
