Richard V."Dick" Adams age 86, of Hendersonville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 6th, following an extended illness.

He was born in Largo, Florida to the late Robert and Dessie Adams. Prior to moving to Hendersonville 26 years ago from Tampa, Dick was the owner of Aviation Supply Corporation with locations in Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Atlanta and London. From the start of the corporation in 1945 and through the 1960's Dick piloted his plane all over the South building his business. Upon his retirement the company was sold to Piedmont Airlines.

Dick loved to travel and he traveled the world. He was a pilot his entire adult life and was a proud member of the most prestigious pilot association, the Quiet Birdmen. Dick built his "Adam's Apple" areobatic airplane which won the "Wright Brothers: award for a Pitts Special Airplane at the Dayton International Air Show and is featured in the book "Janes All the World's Aircraft". Dick served his country in the NAVY during World War II. Most importantly , Dick treasured his family and friends.

His wife, Norine S. Adams; preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Richard V. Adams Jr. and his wife Barbara, of Tierra Verde, FL and daughter, Susan Orton and her husband, Steve of Alpharetta, GA and grandchildren, Christy Adams and Cara Orton.

A celebration of Life will be at held at 1:00 pm January 20, 2007 at Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC.
