Obituary: Lisa Bivens Rodgers, 49, of Athens passed away on July 12, 2014 at a Knoxville hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Punk” Rodgers; her parents, Roy and Mary Bidwell Bivens; and one brother, Danny Davis.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lacey and Chad Armstrong, of Athens; two grandsons, Tavien and Tavius “Itsy” Armstrong, both of Athens; one sister, Patricia Womac, of Athens; one brother, Charles Larry Davis, of Athens; one nephew, Alan Womac, and his wife, Cindy, of Riceville; a great-nephew and great-niece, Joshua and Paisley Womac of Riceville.

Service: A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Evangelist Phyllis Prigmore and Minister Sandra Lewis officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Athens Free Holiness Church Cemetery with Chad Armstrong, Jan Armstrong, Star Armstrong, Alan Womac, Josh Womac, and Malik Moss serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15th at the funeral home.
