The year of 1920 finds him married to Anna Davis and living in Willow Springs, Howell county, MO with Elmer, Theo and Forrest, working as a fireman for the railroad. The 1925 KS state census finds Bill, Anna, Theo and Forrest living in Wichita, Sedgwick county, KS with Bill working as a fireman at the roundhouse for the railroad.

Anna Jane Phelps Gould Davis was born on March 15, 1874 and died on March 26, 1942. After Anna passed away Bill went to California and lived near his sister, Mary Frances Davis Dickerson and her family. Bill passed away on March 18, 1956 in San Bernardino county, CA and was buried in the San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, San Jacinto, Riverside county, CA.
