Connie Clark, 97, Nashville passed away June 13, 2015 in Franklin, IN. She was born September 12, 1917 in Brown County, IN. Connie was the daughter of James Ernest Swift and Opal (Tracy) Swift Waltman.
Connie was active in the Christian church all her life; she was baptized at Garden City Church, Indianapolis, she grew up attending Unity Church, Spearsville, she attended Grove Park Church, Lakeland, FL, she was the oldest member of Nashville Christian Church, Nashville, where she formerly served as secretary-treasurer and Bible School teacher. Connie was an Eastern Star Life Member, member of Bible Study Fellowship, and Belmont Home Bible Study. Connie was a 1934 graduate of Helmsburg High School. She spent her career working at ASCS office, and as bookkeeper at Black Lumber Company, Star Store, and Miller's Drug Store all in Nashville. She was a member of Home Economics Club and had been a Leader for 4-H Clubs many years. Connie was a wonderful care giver, first for her mother and mother-in-law and helped care for her brother, James, when he was ill. Her family totally respected her and remember her endearing qualities; mother, caretaker, seamstress, quilter, flower arranger, rose gardener, woodwork designer, carpentry, home remodeling, raising African Violets, resourcefulness, unselfishness, good example, and very caring spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Thomas Waltman, her husband, Don Clark, Sr. in 1990, grandson, Todd G. Paris, great grandson, Zachariah Chaplin, and eight siblings.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 18 at 2:00 P.M. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home with L.D. Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 17 from 4:00-8:00 P.M.
