She is survived by her daughter, Sue Munro, of Richmond, VA and her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Alex Pasetti of Dandridge; her granddaughters and their husbands, Emily and Thomas Scott of Richmond, and Mary Beth and Tim Strange of Morristown; and three great-grandchildren, Zoe and Henry Scott and Emma Strange, as well as several nieces and nephews. A life-long Presbyterian, she was first a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and later of Westminster Presbyterian Church in White Pine where she served as elder, Sunday School teacher, children's music director, and moderator of Presbyterian Women.
Mrs. Felknor attended Maryville College and graduated from Carson-Newman College. She taught school for 32 years and in her later years enjoyed visits from many of her former students. She belonged to the JCEA, TEA, NEA, and held a lifetime membership in the PTA. She was an active participant in Delta Kappa Gamma, Jefferson Women's Club, Samuel Doak DAR, APTA, FCE, Martha Dandridge Garden Club, and the Jefferson County Farm Bureau. She served two terms on the Jefferson County Library Board.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Friday, July 18 at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine. The service will be at 2 pm Saturday at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Dandridge with Dr. Paul Brewer and the Rev. Andrew Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Seahorn's Chapel Cemetery.
