Services 10;30a.m. Tuesday July 22, at the Geo M.Wittich Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites by the combined units of the V.F.W. Post 1565 and the American Legion POST #27. Gregory Scott Monroe 58 of Muscatine passed away on Monday Juy 14, 2014 at his home in Muscatine. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the American Legion. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Greg's name.

Gregory Scott was born on June 17, 1956 in Muscatine Iowa the son of John F. and Thelma(Mallory) Monroe. In June of 1984 Greg married Suzanne Tremblay in Quebec Canada. they were later divorced. Greg proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard during the Gulf War, serving in avionics as a helicopter mechanic. He was most recently employed by the Rock Island Arsenal as a small arms repair man. Greg previously attended Wesley United Methodist Church and later St Mathias Church. He was a member of the Elks, Elks Chanters, various theatre productions, Knights of Columbus, E.S.G.R.(Employer Support Guard and Reserve) American Legion, Barbershop Quartette, and various other clubs. Greg was very much a people person, he enjoyed cooking, entertaing friends, shooting, anything weapons, model cars, military history, tanks, planes, and any other vehicles used by the military.

Greg will be deeply missed by his two children, Cassandra Louise Monroe and significant other Joseph Almonte of Mew York New York, Nathan Monroe of Muscatine, one brother, Jeffrey A. Monroe and wife Lynda of Muscatine, two sisters, Eileen Monroe Wilmington of Springfield. Virginia, Patty Shockley Florida resident. and niece Alecia Wilmington

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Monroe Jr. and Dennis Monroe and one nephew Mark Monroe
